Software Nutrigeo
No, all information entered during the first visit is saved and you can create a new diet whenever needed while keeping all data.
Both software work in perfect synergy, so you can choose the method based on the dietary path without re-entering patient data.
In NUTRIGEO you have a database of basic dietary treatments that affect food selection and quantities.
Yes, the software suggests severity levels (level 1 or 2) based on data, but the user can modify them.
In NUTRIGEO it is possible to define the patient’s dietary style. By setting a vegetarian style, the program selects the appropriate food profile and all automatic calculations will adapt accordingly.
In NUTRIGEO it is possible to create custom food profiles (tailored for specific situations) which, once saved, remain in the archive and can be used at any time. Defining a profile means specifying which foods are available for diet creation. The program will always consider any pathologies, allergies, intolerances and physiologies present.
Once the diet has been created with NUTRIGEO, the user can modify the results as desired. Changes can be made manually or using automatic recalculation functions. It is also possible to add or remove foods from meals and/or courses.
The graphical report shows in real time how the changes affect the defined energy intake.
The food database currently includes more than 2300 items; however, it is possible to add personal foods or recipes to be used in diet creation. In the case of personal foods, the user must enter the nutritional composition and evaluate their inclusion in diets.
It is also possible to send requests for new foods via email to PROGEO, which will evaluate them. Accepted requests will be used to expand and update the NUTRIGEO database.
This option allows excluding foods that require longer preparation times from those available for diet creation. Level 2 excludes more foods than level 1.
Visual weight is an option related to how food quantities are displayed. Normally quantities are shown in grams. With Visual weight, where possible, quantities are expressed in alternative units (e.g. portions, glasses, tablespoons, etc.). The higher the visual level set, the more foods will be displayed in alternative units.
Affinity Level is an option that allows matching the dressing of the first course based on the type of second course chosen when both are present in the same meal.
The “Pasta Increase” treatment allows NUTRIGEO to create diets where the amount of pasta can exceed the standard maximum (150 grams). This can be activated through manual treatments acting on quantities or via the Configuration function in the “File” menu.
There is no limit on the number of calculations that NUTRIGEO can perform. The same applies to storage since the space occupied by a diet on a disk is on average about 750 KiloBytes and in a space of 1 GigaByte it is possible to store more than 1200 diets.
Obviously it depends on the characteristics of the hard disk of the computer on which you are working, considering that on average today disks have a space of at least 500 GigaBytes.
NUTRIGEO provides different types of data storage. Based on the size of your archive, the characteristics of your PC and the network structure of your activity, it is possible to evaluate the use of a data storage configuration on database files (maximum 4 GB in size) or on more advanced data management systems (SQL Server).
There is no limit to the number of diets NUTRIGEO can create. The same applies to storage, as each diet occupies approximately 750 KB and over 1200 diets can be stored in 1 GB.
This depends on the computer’s hard drive, considering that modern drives typically have at least 500 GB of space.
NUTRIGEO offers different data storage options. Depending on archive size, PC characteristics and network structure, it is possible to use database files (max 4 GB) or more advanced systems (SQL Server).
Both operations are possible in NUTRIGEO via the backup management section in the File menu.

Bioimpedance
Standing position.
For the analysis, contact with the skin is essential, therefore it is necessary to step on the scale barefoot to obtain accurate data.
Yes, with Accuniq BIA it is possible to enter the tare of the estimated weight of clothes and then proceed with the measurement.
Men have a different body composition compared to women. Genetically, men’s bodies tend to develop and retain muscle tissue while a woman’s body tends to retain fat. A man who has exactly the same height and weight as a woman generally has more muscle mass and less fat mass. The calculation performed by the bioimpedance analyzer takes these differences into account.
Body water levels naturally fluctuate during the day and night. Any significant change in body water can affect the results of body composition analysis. For example, the body tends to be dehydrated after a long night of sleep therefore if a measurement is taken in the morning the weight will be lower and the body fat percentage higher. Eating large meals, consuming alcohol or caffeine, the presence of the menstrual cycle or illnesses and performing physical exercise can also cause variations in hydration levels. To obtain a reliable reading it is important to use the bioimpedance analyzer under constant conditions in the various measurements taken over time on the client.
ACCUNIQ has developed an extremely accurate body composition analysis using bioelectrical impedance and advanced engineering excellence. The measurements have been validated thanks to the DEXA measurement method known to be the most accurate method for evaluating body composition.
No, it is necessary to use the bioimpedance analyzer on a stable and level surface.
It will not work on a carpet and generally, if used on a carpet, it will give a lower weight than the correct one.
The possible causes could be:
• there is something preventing contact with the electrodes, such as socks or shoes (even very hard skin can have the same effect)
• a short circuit occurs, which can sometimes be generated by legs touching if no clothes are worn
• the feet or hands do not correctly touch the electrodes
Severe calluses on the heels or on the palms/soles of hands/feet
humidity or sweat of hands/feet (e.g. after a long bath)
very warm skin of hands/feet
skin with creams, disinfectant gels, etc. (if the measurement is carried out with instruments with electrodes on the hands, it is recommended to wash and dry the hands well if disinfectant gels are used)
dirty electrodes
medical implants such as a steel plate in the leg, artificial hip joint or breast implants. These implants influence the reading, but there are no contraindications in the use of the bioimpedance analyzer in these conditions.
The passage of current is absolutely safe. However, if you have an implanted medical device such as a PACEMAKER the bioimpedance analyzer MUST NOT BE USED. The bioimpedance analyzer can be safely used on subjects with an ongoing pregnancy, but it will not provide an accurate reading.
It is possible to use the bioimpedance analyzer in the presence of prostheses or metallic implants, such as a steel plate in the leg, an artificial hip joint, dental prostheses or breast implants. The measurements will be influenced in a constant way over time (in the case of permanent prostheses) and therefore it is still possible to see the trend over time of body composition tests.
No, it is not recommended to carry out the test on: pregnant women, people with implanted electronic medical devices (e.g. pacemaker, artificial heart and heart-lung machine) and metallic materials (e.g. defibrillators, stents, metal sutures in the heart and major vessels, etc), anyone who has catheters with fluids.
Those who have a cardiac pacemaker cannot use a bioimpedance analyzer. The signal is very low and is completely safe in all other cases. Since the signal travels through water in the body, people who have a water imbalance in their body (including pregnant women, those with menstruation or people who use certain medications) may obtain fluctuating readings. Those who have metallic devices may obtain non-objective results due to interference with other electrical signals.
Furthermore, it is not recommended to carry out the test on any woman with contraceptive devices.
ACCUNIQ body fat monitoring is based on the electrical conductivity of the body, which in turn is based on the levels of body fluids. Adipose tissue is dehydrated and therefore resists an electrical signal, while muscle tissue is relatively hydrated and therefore conducts an electrical signal. However factors such as temperature, the amount of exercise performed, liquids consumed, medical conditions (including menstruation), medications, alcohol, caffeine etc., can also influence the hydration level of a person’s muscle tissue, which can consequently affect the body fat reading. The time of day can also influence hydration levels and the distribution of fluids in the body.
Water is an essential part to remain in good health. It is continuously lost during the day through urine, sweat and breath. Even a small reduction in hydration levels can affect performance and health, therefore it is important to keep hydration levels under control and restore lost fluids. The “Total Body Water %” function will help to understand how the body changes based on hydration levels. When the body is well hydrated the percentage of water will be higher while the percentage of fat will be lower, but when the body is dehydrated the percentage of fat in the body will have a greater impact on total weight.
At the beginning, a slight increase in the body fat percentage may be detected as body water is lost in the early stages of a diet. Subsequently, by continuing to follow a correct dietary plan, the body fat percentage value will decrease at a slow but steady rate until the desired level.
